about

Release number 66 is a selection of 15 tracks spanning the past 5 years of Machine (between 2016-2021), this is a compilation for supporters and fans alike and those of you who are new to the Machine fold. Here we have a cross section that defines who we are and what we’ve done. Locals representative of the Melbourne sound ; Ranjit Nijjer, Lateral, Juan Tellez, Enclave, Composite Cone, Ollie Olsen, Jani Ho, Klaps, Pharis, Ground Loop, but also artists from further afield, signifying the international range of the label, from Metapattern (Berlin), Ryogo Yamamori (Japan), Unit (UK), Echoplex (Poland), The Black Moy (France), Mown (Germany) & the anonymous and mysterious AN#

As a showcase you can expect musical range here. As a volume it speaks volumes about what we do. Make no mistake this is techno, but true to the Machine ethos, it is hypnotic and refined. It pulls punches and dishes hugs. It is full and solid as it is sparse and ephemeral.

The album is beautifully curated by Andrew Till, and is very much a product of his artful hand in establishing the repertoire of the roster. Here it is in full bloom, with each track speaking into the next as seamlessly as if it were a dj set. The only difference being this is no mix tape. Each track appears here in it’s entirety for you to bring your own art to it. A compilation for interpretation, listening and playing. We trust you’ll enjoy this sample of the past 5 years of Machine.
