about

[MACH006]

The newest offering from the Machine stable is a bristling 4 track EP from Melbourne producer Linas. Headed with 'Reverse Polarity', a well placed starter, that actually leaves nothing in the tank. An introduction to Linas, that could also serve as the single tour de force.

Frequencies ebb & flow on 'Traversable LFO' as Linas bends the Machines, transporting us through time & space with balance and poise.

'Puzzle Box' is a taut ride through rolling drum syncopation. A stacatto drive by that will have techno hoods white knuckling the wheel. This track is finished with class touch ups, the requisite one shots, full of flair. When the tension builds to fever pitch, the vocal one shots take it over the edge. “Good Luck”.

Which brings us to 'Menace'. You've got to be kidding right? When the opening strains step up, you're somehow deposited on the path that Puzzle Box spat you out on. This must be the high road, because this techno loco is coming on like a freight train. Somehow Linas evokes this language in response to his sound and rhythm. Class techno that leaves nothing on the park, but manages the rare feat of being unassuming and cordial whilst peacefully ripping your head off. Welcome the fold Linas
